I recently had the honour to sit down and spend some time on Zoom with keyboard virtuoso and master storyteller Reese Wynans.
Widely recognized as one of the premier organ and keyboard players in the world, his distinctive sound has helped shape countless recordings and live performances across rock, blues, country and Americana music.
Over the years, Reese Wynans has worked with Carole King, Boz Scaggs, Delbert McClinton, and Joe Bonamassa.
You will know him best as a member of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble during the band’s most successful years in the 1980s.
He’s also worked with Canada’s Colin James, who would often open for Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble in the 1980’s. Reese and his keyboard work appear on the 1993’s double platinum album Colin James and the Little Big Band:
Nashville will celebrate his career with an all-star evening of music, memories and special guests as part of the 3rd & Lindsley Nashville 35th Anniversary Series on Friday, Aug. 21. The night will feature musicians Kenny Greenberg, Alison Prestwood, Lynn Williams, Kevin McKendree and additional special guests.
The event will spotlight Wynans’ extraordinary musical legacy while celebrating the success of his acclaimed 2019 release, Reese Wynans and Friends: Sweet Release.
