The song Divide of Ten is the latest release from young Irish singer/songwriter Rian. It’s a duet with American singer Charlene. She had one of the biggest hits of 1982 with I’ve Never Been to Me. It spent four weeks at #1 in Canada, while it reached a peak of #3 on Billboard. It also reached #1 on the UK charts that year.
The two of them connected recently released a touching, heartfelt song written by Rian. Divide of Ten tells the story of a family struggling with the death of their mother.

On this edition of the Vinyl Professor Podcast, I was pleased to interview both Rian and Charlene. It was my first three country Zoom; I was in Canada, Charlene was in the US, and Rian was in Ireland. What I found was that despite differences in geography and age, the two not only became singer partners, but also supportive friends.
