My Sit Down 2.0 with Tom Paxton and John McCutcheon

Their first album, Together, topped the folk charts in 2023, so why not return to the studio for an encore?

Together Again is the second album from Tom Paxton (Wasn’t That a Party) and John McCutcheon (Christmas in the Trenches).

The album echoes many of the themes from their first album. They reflect on the past, the future, and current social and political issues.

There is nostalgia (Artie’s Last Stand, Famous for a Day), humour (Cheatin’ While I’m Eatin’), folk music history (Pathfinder, The Future), and “musical journalism” songs (Stop at Nothing) that will spark discussion.

One of my favourite tracks is Artie’s Last Stand, about the decline of physical newspapers:

The album is available to buy (digital download or physical copy) at folkmusic.com.

I recently got, um, “together again” with the duo. In addition to talking about their new work, we also discussed one of our favourite pastimes – baseball. (GO BLUE JAYS!)

Enjoy! Remember to like, comment, and share.
