Terry Draper, one of the founding members of Klaatu, was my guest on Oldies Without Borders on April 12. He’s got a new CD out called Life is Strange. It’s a collaboration with Jamie Grant.

The first track on the album is Crop Circle Creatures – perhaps an allusion to Klaatu’s album 3:47 EST?

In this podcast, Terry shares the story behind the new album and his collaborator Jamie Grant, who, interestingly, he has never met.

We also honour the legacy of Klaatu – and one song in particular – Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft. It was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019. Much to Terry’s surprise (and approval), the song was recorded by Karen and Richard Carpenter.

Terry and I met on Zoom during one of the many recent weather related power outages in Ontario, so there are some times when the audio is not 100%.
